The sight unseen

It was a busy morning walking around
Everywhere was busy living their lives
Following along I heard the sound
Come here, go there we’re wasting time
We walked around through all the shops
Every now and then we’d see something she liked And stop
I wonder what is it that everyone sees
That gets them so excited about all these things
Food here, bags there clothes everywhere
Drinks here, items there credit everywhere
People living beyond their means I can see their fake smile
Its easily recognised cause I wear it every once in awhile
Today I’ve worn it nearly all day
Its no wonder I’m trying to get away
Distracted by beauty and cosmetic effects
I’ve been released from my chains until she objects
And so I’ve found my own sense of peace hidden away
Drinking Coffee and writing keeps me sane
Then I realise everyone has a different escape
Some people enjoy this commercial landscape

Darkness spreads through the clouded mind
Forever deceiving what’s thought divine
Sometime it fades to give you time
Sometimes that’s enough to believe you’re fine
When your feeling lost inside yourself
There’s a dark shell covering you in hell
You continue to battle this unseen force
Alone and lost its what it wants of course
You harden your heart and do what’s right
People can’t see through the fake light
Everyone thinks your so kind
But they don’t see what lies behind
One day you know the demon will be free
You’ll be free but your soul will be empty

Self destruction promoted openly
the one preaching is just a child
so innocent from the hardships of life
not having lived through real strife
But how could she know at the edge of a knife
everyone wants to choose life

Sacred sight unseen by all
denied as saving it is a rule
but give me yours you don’t count
you lost any right or I’ll shout
Why do I want it? the same as you
What will i do? nothing just torture you

come here straight away now don’t be late
if I have to wait your soul i will take
If your there for 30mins thats just fine
Surely you have nothing to do with your time
now I’m here take me where I want
I wont force you but if you don’t
forget everything as caring you don’t

Sacrifice is the name of the game
what will you give up to prove your tame
don’t forget to smile and act sane
or everything you do will be a drain
you don’t really love me
is the knife used frequently
I’ll stab it again and again untill
I’ve taken all of your will.

Running from the past

Haunted by the bead of shame
hidden away in all but name
few remember the power of your pain
but you live in fear of it again

So many trials you’ve survived
so many times you could have died
too many tears you have cried
but through it all you stayed alive

and so rewards you have found
a family loves you here and now
an angel keeps you on the ground
alone no more you can hear sounds

but you know this curse lives on inside
you know there’s nowhere you can hide
but this time you swear you’ll make it right
this time you promise not to lose the fight

How can one truly set themselves free
of living with the pain and suffering
knowing all the things that you did see
will always keep repeating

it’s buried so deep within your soul
no one can see it even when their told
but why do you expect people to know
exactly what its like every tomorrow

so I pray please lord give me the strength
to move forward with every single breath
please don’t let my past catch up to me
please never, ever set my demon free

The morning it brings in flooding emotions

Everyday a struggle of the tides of life

Push pulled and prodded at all the various options

Finding it harder to work out wrong from right

Stretching yourself thin has forever been your niche

Such a ricochet of decisions has brought you here

And knowing the consequence of the choice of each

Causes worry of choosing wrong with a constant fear

And the mornings start with tired

And the mid day finds some peace

And the afternoon a juggling act of futures

And the night brings back the slack

And mid night brings on uniqueness

The time when you don’t know

What the whole day meant, but knowing it will repeat tomorrow

The morning starts with the joy

Of seeing my future of love

But turns to my cheap employ

Constantly drowning with just my head above

To keep working for a promised future

One seen but still unreached

Or to go to a brighter present

Less future but not being leached

And the mornings start with tired

And the mid day finds some peace

And the afternoon a juggling act of futures

And the night brings back the slack

And mid night brings on uniqueness

The time when you don’t know

What the whole day meant, but knowing it will repeat tomorrow

The afternoon brings the sudden reminder

Of all that has been sacrificed

take away the time to study or train

and work more still being minimized

and the boredom sets in while I wonder

what should I really do

but no matter the range of things that come

the one thing still remains true

It always comes down to the same thing

It takes either time or money

And even though I have the thoughts to dream

Both of those I don’t have free

And the mornings start with tired

And the mid day finds some peace

And the afternoon a juggling act of futures

And the night brings back the slack

And mid night brings on uniqueness

The time when you don’t know

The night brings hope once more

To see what I’ve missed so much

Even just for a glancing moment as before

Every moment I always cherish

And I pray it goes for longer

But its often always cut short

Then I realize I should be getting stronger

But its been so long since I’ve fought

And so I train my body

And my mind as I try to see

How many hours a day I can fit in

To be who I truly want to be.

So why be so blind to see?

I’m here, right here

Don’t fear, I’m so near

I’m looking for you

The you that I know is true

Be crazy be wild and show me your life

I don’t understand, why I am here

After all I should no longer care

I keep searching for something I believe to be true

Is that thing I’m searching for possibly you?

I’ve died a thousand times in this life

I’ve failed a thousand times being right

I’ve made a thousand mistakes in my certainty

But I’m sure that it could be you and me

But can anyone really be one with me?

I’m full of doubt, but I hold onto the belief

I don’t understand, why I am here

After all I should no longer care

I keep searching for something I believe to be true

When you’re alone what do you feel?

Can you hear the voices of the past?

When there is no future what do you see?

Can you see the darkness spreading too fast?

When there is no hope what do you cling to?

Do you realize that you’re at your last?

When it all closes in and the demons are laughing

Can you stand tall and laugh when they grasp?

They close in once more

It’s not like before

Time to ignore

The life you foresaw

How can you see what you do not know?

Is it possible to stumble into where you should go?

How can you survive the rain falling down?

When it’s the sudden lighting strike that finishes you

How can you dig through the grave you’ve set?

When you don’t know how deep you are below

How can others help you survive your life?

If the only real obstacle happens to be you

They close in once more

It’s not like before

Time to ignore

The life you foresaw

Why do you breathe no matter the pain?

When you conquer something it comes back again

Why do you eat yet another day?

When the very food you consume causes further pain

Why do you force yourself to do the right thing?

When you constantly hurt slowly going insane

Why does hope get you out of the bed each morning?

When everyday runs past you in vain

Why do you try why do you lie why do you die each single try?

When you know inside you’re the one to blame?

It’s not like before

Deceptive rays of light blind the eye in wondrous awe
We’re looking at the same sky but not like before
Somewhere you sit, fag in your mouth
Whiskey by your side, kid locked in the house
You’re so happy in your own little world
Sitting back you think you got what’s deserved
But in the back of your mind as you look at that sky
You start thinking why does this still not feel right?

Roars of the train flood my ears through the silence
Shadows twisting below seem to be glowering malice
The anger deep from within the same that caused me to sin
The one that always will win oh yes its buried within
I’m happy in my own world enrapt with breaking rules
I’m building this life again but when will it all unfurl
And I look to the sky and I start wondering why
No matter how hard I try it just doesn’t seem right

What is it I want to say
I hear it day after day
But even I can’t say why
I just don’t crawl up and die
I still keep living my life
You still insist that you’re right
And we’ll keep living a lie
Until we finally die

And so you place the cup to your lips
The whiskey is as good as it gets
Tilt your head back to stare into the night
And suddenly things seem just right
I reach down to drink from the rum
The same bottle that I started on
Staring into the night has given me inspiration to write
But then I realize like when I looked into your eyes
Everything is alright, because I’ll win this fight

Die Alone

Feeling you heart fill with sorrow
Why did you walk this path your tread
Why didn’t you take the easy way instead
There is always a struggle but never a win
Just moving on to till another begins
So what is it in this life that pushes you through
Because you don’t even know what to do

Empty inside you’re dying, denying
Why can’t you rise, this heart of stone
So terrified of lying, destroying
You aim to high, you’ll die all alone

There’s so much to see you spread your disease
With a heart on your sleeve you make them believe
Your so much more than the empty core
That’s left behind from a life of war
So how can I tell you what to do
No matter how hard I try
You’ll be chased by the same shadow
The one you can’t deny

My captivation of perfection

Lasts forever in this moment

Every little detail’s a reflection

Of a possibility once shrouded by torment

The white glow of a smile

Bringing light into contention

Couldn’t see the eyes

The blank stare of rejection

I can only see what isn’t there

I can only feel what I never cared

I can only hear what was never said

I can only taste what I never had

The taste is sweet

My shadow lies beside me asking questions why

But the light stretches it further away in disguise

The reflections around repeat back to me the lie

I can’t even tell what’s the ground or the sky

The essence of purity is the ultimate evil

Innocence broken with the shell of pride

The perfection is broken forever it will

Haunt my search for that which is right

I can only see what isn’t there

I can only feel what I never cared

I can only hear what was never said

I can only taste what I never had

The taste is sweet
